I will not restrain my mouth;
I will sleep in the anguish of my spirit;
I will complain in the bitterness of my soul…
Remember that thou hast made me of clay;
and wilt thou turn me to dust again?…
Thou has granted me life and steadfast love;
and thy care hast preserved my spirit…
For I know that my Redeemer lives,
and at last he will stand upon the earth.
~The Book of Job
Very beautiful. The book of Job is one of my favorites. There are many life lessons to be found there, but I love the poetry and the lyrical nature of it all. Almost unnoticed, in the background of the story there is a storm brewing, tension building, until God finally comes out of the whirlwind and begins to speak. There are many stories within a story, making the book of Job a really fascinating piece of scripture.
